Gablehouse was in business since 2010 and had been successful for the past three years despite having no website. Its business depended on word of mouth and whatever visibility it got from displaying at local farmers markets. But to take their business to the next level, owners Jeff and Carolyn Bondy knew they needed a website that promoted their business on a national scale.
Susan Greene wrote a website that told of the farm’s history – it had been in Carolyn’s family for over 65 years – and how the couple came to build a business around their love of a single species of flower, daylilies. It was a heartwarming story that charmed customers.
The website included an online catalog, which had photos of the hundreds of types of daylilies they sold. All copy was written with search engine optimization in mind.
Not only did the website successfully attract customers to the farm, it also created a new revenue stream by enabling the Bondys to sell their flowers over the internet.
Today, the business continues to steadily grow as the Bondys add more varieties of daylilies to their stock and expand their online catalog. They’ve solidified a page 1 placement on Google for “daylilies Canada” and other related keywords, ensuring steady traffic to their website and a constant flow of new customers.
