Evergreen Gavekal

Challenge

Established in 1983, Evergreen Gavekal is an independent registered investment advisor (RIA) that serves high net-worth individuals, families and endowments. Its multi-disciplined staff provides expert guidance and personalized wealth management plans that give their clients an empowered financial future and legacy.

Since inception, most of the firm’s business had come via word-of-mouth. Satisfied clients passed along their name to their well-to-do friends. But with increased competition as well as increased opportunity,  the principals at Evergreen felt it was time  to become more proactive with its marketing. Their new push for increased visibility had to begin with a more informative and visually appealing website.

Solution

Evergreen Gavekal hired Thrive, a Seattle-based web design firm, to create a completely new look for their website. The Thrive team included Susan Greene, an experienced copywriter who’d created marketing materials for other financial advisory and wealth management companies.

Susan interviewed key people at Evergreen to create web pages for topics such as: private wealth, family office, alternative investments, taxation and financial research.  

Result

The new website had a sophisticated look, and the copy complemented that elegance. It explained Evergreen’s key services in far more detail than had been written on the old site.

It also spoke more specifically to its target audience, letting potential clients self-qualify whether Evergreen Gavekal was likely to be a fit for their financial advisory needs. 

Additionally, the new website explained how Evergreen was unique, not like other wealth management firms they may have known. It emphasized key selling propositions like its ability to conduct independent investment research on a global scale with boots-on-the-ground in Europe and Asia.
