In business since 1954, Edco Supply Corporation manufactures papers and bags that are specially treated to prevent corrosion. They are used to wrap, store and ship metal machine parts.
For more than 60 years Edco had been selling its products to the military. Now its owners wanted to target different vertical markets to increase its market share. They contacted Susan Greene, a freelance brochure writer.
Susan researched the products and wrote copy that touted their benefits and differentiated Edco from its competitors. She also persuaded Edco managers to include a special offer in the brochure, a 10% discount on first orders, to provide an incentive to new customers.
Susan then brought in graphic designer Christina Muller to design the brochures. They worked together to produce the final product.
Edco mailed the brochure to target companies and saw an increase in new business. Many of those new customers will have an ongoing need for Edco’s products.
We’ve always been the market leader in military-related packaging. But we recently decided to branch out into some vertical markets. Up until that point, all of our marketing had been boring black-and-white price guides printed in our own direct mail department. To penetrate new markets, we knew we needed to create brochures with more impact.
We found Susan Greene, a freelance brochure writer, and she introduced us to Christina M., graphic designer. Together, they make a great team. We’re extremely pleased with the brochures they produced for us and plan to work with them on future marketing projects.
