Challenge

When AllGems Transportation received the prestigious Community Leader Award for its service to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, the luxury transportation provider wanted to publicize its accomplishment. Joe Rivera, president of AllGems, requested a press release that emphasized the company’s commitment to the charitable organization and the Orlando community.

Solution

Susan Greene wrote a press release that told the story and also included quotes from a Boys & Girls Club program director explaining why AllGems had been chosen for the leadership award.

Result

AllGems Transportation was able to highlight its charitable work while also bringing attention to the needs of the Boys & Girls Club. Additionally, by showing how a local business can contribute to organizations in its community, AllGems hoped to inspire other businesses to get involved in providing their products and services to area charities.

AllGems Transportation Wins Prestigious Community Leader Award

Orlando, FL…AllGems Transportation has received the prestigious Community Leader Award for its service to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.  The luxury transportation provider was recognized by the organization as an Orlando company “making a difference in the lives of children.”

Throughout the year, AllGems Transportation has provided limousine service to the Boys & Girls Club as a reward to its youth members who achieve certain goals.  On one occasion, children were selected to take part in a limo tour of Orlando based on their achievements in the Club’s Power Hour program, an after-school homework initiative that encourages members to become self-directed learners.

“The children felt like celebrities as they were driven around Orlando in the limo,” explained Anna Dieuveuil, Program Director for the Taft Branch of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.  “They couldn’t stop smiling, especially when the driver made a surprise stop for ice cream.  The limo ride made the children feel so special.  They’ll never forget the experience.”

On another occasion, AllGems Transportation provided transportation to the Boys & Girls Club’s annual fundraiser, Celebrate the Children 2011.  Club members with the highest grade point averages in school were selected to ride to the event in the limo.

“AllGems Transportation gave these children the full star treatment,” Dieuveuil said.  “The limo pulled up to the entrance of the Orlando World Center Marriott, lights flashing, and the driver rolled out a red carpet for them to walk on while a professional photographer took their photos and all the other guests stared.  The kids were thrilled.”

This is the first year that AllGems Transportation became involved in the Boys & Girls Club, but Joe Rivera, President, says it definitely won’t be the last.  “We like the Boys & Girls Club’s mission and values,” Rivera explained. “We fully support their efforts to inspire young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.”

Rivera said that it wasn’t only the children who found the limo rides memorable.  “We at AllGems Transportation were gratified to see these wonderful children who are already achieving in their lives.  We appreciated the opportunity to help them celebrate their accomplishments.”
