Day 6: Wednesday, March 5, 2025 – Algarve  Opening Ceremonies possibly

    • Activities: Austria plays Ireland at 5:00 pm

 

Possible activity: Ferry to Ayamonte. Ferry departs on the half hour from Vila Real de Santo António and hourly from Ayamonte. Fare is about $2 pp. Get tickets on sight 15 min. before. Shops close for siesta 2pm-4pm. Spain is 1 hour ahead of Portugal time.

 

Ayamonte has a little square with restaurants, tapas cafes, shops and a cathedral. Take passports although they may not ask to see them. Look for jelly fish when on the ferry. Things to see in Spain – Plaza de la Laguna, Church of El Salvador, and Isla Canela beach. La Taperia offers a variety of tapas. Other restaurants: Restaurante Simon SI, El Paladar, La Pamela.
