Is Alternative Medicine a Good Niche for Copywriting?

I am a copywriter just starting out. I have a passion for alternative medicine, and would like to choose that as a niche for my freelance writing business. However, I am not a doctor, and I’m afraid I’m going to look like a quack. Should I switch my niche?

You seem to have forgotten the most basic fundamental about being a copywriter. Unless you’re writing your autobiography, writing isn’t about you; it’s about your client’s products or services.

Thank you! I did not realize that I was so selfish. I will work on it, and you made a good point about focusing on selling the customer’s products. 

I will keep these things in mind as I moved forward. Basically, I have settled for the alternative medicine niche because I want to learn more about it, I have a passion for it and I love it so much.

Alternative medicine, and healthcare in general, is indeed a promising niche. I’ve worked on multiple projects in healthcare — physician practices, hospitals, medical device manufacturers, telehealth, and nutritional supplements. It’s definitely a viable specialty.
